Abused maid records desperate video begging to be freed from cruel boss

A maid who claims she’s the victim of sexual abuse from her employers recorded a heartbreaking video pleading to be freed.

Sumi Akter, 25, spoke about her alleged abuse, at the hands of her employers in Saudi Arabia, in a Facebook video posted earlier this month, which has since been shared by thousands of people.

In the video, she speaks in Bengalli, the native language of her home Bangladesh, pleading for someone to save her, Aljazeera reported.

"I perhaps won't live longer,” she says.

“Please save me. They locked me up for 15 days and barely gave me any food. They burned my hands with hot oil.”

She furthers claims she’s suffered "merciless sexual assaults".

"They took me from one home to another one. In the first home, they tortured me and hit me repeatedly and then took me to another one where I experienced the same,” Aljazeera reported her saying.

The Bangladesh government has reportedly succeeded in getting her freed, and she is on her way back to Bangladesh.

According to News Corp, Bangladeshi NGO Building Resources Across Communities said her phone was confiscated after she recorded the video. Her treatment led to protests in Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka.
