Abbie Chatfield details ‘scary’ voice note death threats from anti-vaxxers

Abbie Chatfield has shared terrifying details about the death threats she has received throughout her career, including voice notes sent via Instagram DMs.

The 26-year-old, who is an advocate for vaccines and has become well-known for shutting down critics and proving people wrong if they have an ill-informed opinion, admits that she’s been receiving hate online since her appearance on The Bachelor in 2019.

“This new wave of anti-vaxxer trolls, they’re a special breed. But it’s been two years of that so it doesn’t really bother me, it’s nothing new,” she told Hit radio’s Cliffo & Gabi.

“I get death threats a lot, voice note death threats are the worst ones. Text ones are fine but voice notes are scary.”

Abbie went on to explain because the police can’t do anything about the threats, she has her own way of dealing with it to make herself feel better.

“You just have to put it in a folder. I just screen record it and I’m like, ‘Just in case something happens to me they’ll know who did it’,” she adds with a laugh.

“I’m pretty scared, I do double check my locks at night.”
