Man dies in Murray Bridge crash

A 29-year-old man has died after his motorcycle crashed into a car at Murray Bridge this morning.

The crash happened just before six o'clock at the intersection of Brinkley Rd and Martins Rd.

"At this early stage, it appears that the Holden Commodore has turned in front of the motorcycle and the collision has occurred there, it’s unknown at what speeds the vehicles were traveling and what other contributing factors may be involved," Major Crash Investigator, Sgt Sheldon Lovell said.

Major Crash investigators are at the scene and Brinkley road will remain closed to all traffic from Old Swanport Rd for several hours.

It is the seventh death on South Australian roads in seven days and Police say it's a horror start to the upcoming Easter 5-day long weekend.

"Seven in seven days is unacceptable, especially coming up to the Easter break where there’s going to be more cars on country roads and all of these seven in seven have been on country roads," Sgt Lovell said.

The state's road toll now sits at 35, compared with 45 at the same time last year.
