SEVEN WINS THE 2009 RATINGS YEAR IN SEQ

SEVEN WINS THE 2009 RATINGS YEAR IN SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND
FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR, CHANNEL SEVEN HAS WON THE PRIME TIME RATINGS BATTLE 7 NEWS, TODAY TONIGHT AND SUNRISE HAVE WON ALL 40 RATINGS WEEKS

Channel Seven has won all major ratings categories including: Primetime, News, Public Affairs, Daytime and Breakfast. Max Walters, Managing Director of Channel Seven Brisbane said,

“Winning three years in a row in the SEQ market is a wonderful result . With Rugby League on Nine and Ten having a solid year, the competition is fierce and Seven's "Threepeat" is a credit to the hard work of all our staff. Both 7 News and Today Tonight have won all 40 weeks of survey. This is the best possible platform for the rest of our programme schedule. "2010 will be no less competitive. Ten’s second channel ( One ) commenced on March 26 . Nine’s second channel ( Go ) started on August 9 but Seven’s second channel ( 7TWO ) didn’t kick off until November 1. Performance comparisons for second channels in 2009 are therefore meaningless. But, it will be an exciting period for free-to-air television in Australia when the second channels for all five FTA Networks leave the starting gates together at the commencement of the next ratings survey in February 2010".
