Cop on 'stress leave' slammed after posting holiday snaps to social media

A police officer who has been away from work on stress leave for seven months has been slammed by her colleagues for posting a series of raunchy bikini snaps to social media.

Sergeant Leanne Carr, from England, was placed on stress-related illness leave after an internal investigation was carried out into alleged misconduct.

The Lincolnshire officer, who has featured in promotional material for the police department, has now drawn condemnation for her glamorous pictures taken around the world.

The senior officer is under fire from her own colleagues, who questioned whether it was acceptable for someone in her position to be posting such “suggestive” images.

“In practically every photograph she is wearing next to nothing and some of the poses she does are very suggestive,” a police source told the Daily Mail.

“This is a senior officer — a sergeant earning around £45,000-a-year ($81,000) — and in my opinion some of the photos are not befitting of someone in that role.

“Lincolnshire Police know about this but are allowing it to happen despite having a strict policy on what an officer can share on social media.”

The 33-year-old returned to work in January "on recuperative duties" but is now back working full time.

Detective Supt Suzanne Davies came to Ms Carr’s defence saying their officers are entitled to a personal life but said if any social media content breached police standards, they would be investigated.

“When any officer is absent from work due to illness, regular contact is maintained with them and they are entitled to do as they wish during that time, including going on holiday, as long as it does not prohibit their return to work as soon as possible,” she told News Corp.

“I am satisfied that this officer returned to work as soon as she was able to.”
