Mum arrested after leaving crying toddler in car outside nightclub
A woman in the US who allegedly left her three-year-old child unattended in her car while she went and partied in a nightclub has been arrested.
Itzel Vazquez-Barrera, from West Texas, was allegedly seen on CCTV inside the club for about an hour, drinking, dancing and taking selfies, police said.
Police in Odessa say they were called to The Lift around 11pm on Tuesday (local time) after a witness spotted the unsupervised child in the backseat of the car. Officers found the boy alone and crying in the vehicle, Dallas News reports.
Vazquez-Barrera came out from the club a few minutes after police arrived. She was arrested on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child.
She was arrested and taken to Ector County Jail. Her three-year-old son was released to a relative and Child Protective Services has since been notified.
