Witnesses rushed to help emergency services treat the 14 wounded, but despite their efforts, 17-year-old Blake Feeney couldn't be saved.

Mr Feeney was sharing an Uber with friends Mark Johan, Mark's brother and his girlfriend. The trio all remain in a critical condition in hospital, fighting for their lives.

Remarkably the driver of the ride share escaped with minor injuries.

"[It was] very sad and distressing for emergency crews on the scene. Especially given the time of year that it is as well."
