Instant scratch-its are the spur of the moment purchase we hope will change our lives.
But it's been revealed that taking a little more time when choosing tickets could boost your odds at scratching a winner.
Golden Casket has revealed exclusively to Seven News the scratch-it games with the best odds.
Andrew from Bracken Ridge, in Brisbane, is an avid scratcher, spending his spare change to try his luck.
Late last year, he scratched up $10,000 on a $1 ticket.
"You expect to win a couple dollars, maybe," he told 7 News.
"I thought [winning big] was a myth.”
Now his chances of busting the myth again could be even higher.
Golden Casket spokesperson Matt Hart revealed to Seven News the games that are selling out, but still have major prizes unclaimed.
"The prizes are determined at the time of printing, and there's only a certain amount of tickets that are printed," he said.
The games nearing the end of their roll are the $1 2018, and Cash Drive; $2 Happy Chinese New Year; $4 Summer Fun; and $5 Pac-Man, and Crosswords Panda - each with a $100,000 prize still up for grabs.
There’s also the $10 Double Crossword with a major prize of $250,000, $15 Live the Life where two people can still win $5000 each week for five years; and the $20 Instant Millionaire, with a $1 million ticket still out there.
The time it takes for different tickets to finish their roll varies. In Queensland, the most popular are the $1, $2 and Crossword scratch-its, which sell out in a couple of months.
"The prizes can fall at anywhere at any time," Mr Hart said.
And, as Andrew says: "You've gotta be in it to win it!"
