Couple find rat staring back at them in Aldi plums
A couple were disgusted to find a live rat staring back at them with its beady eyes from inside a packet of plums they purchased from Aldi.
Salma Riaz, 32, purchased the sealed plums from an Aldi store in Rochdale, England, with no problems.
It wasn't until later that night that she heard a rustling coming from the fruit and veg.
Ms Riaz said she yelled out to her husband Kamran to come and down and search for what was making the noise.
"He came down and couldn’t see anything either – it was only when he was stood looking in the direction of the fruit bowl that he saw the rat’s eyes," she told the Daily Star.
"The fact it was still alive is very worrying to me and confusing. I just couldn’t understand how it could still be alive trapped how it was."

Video footage shows the rat sitting inside the plastic container in between some plums.
The couple purchased the packet from the back of the shelf thinking it would be the freshest. They returned the plums to the store the next day.
Ms Riaz says the rat may have been motionless because it had been cooled during transportation.
It's understood the plums had been stored at minus temperatures during a three-day transit from Italy to the UK and were then warmed up inside the couple's home.
An Aldi spokesperson told the Metro "a thorough internal investigation" has been carried out.
"I can confirm that there is no issue with our store or warehouses. We are now investigating this isolated incident with our supplier to understand how this could have happened," the spokesperson said.
"In the meantime, we have apologised to Mrs Riaz and offered her a gesture of goodwill."
Yahoo7 contacted Aldi Australia for comment. A spokesperson said the plums involved in the incident aren't sold in Australia.
"There's never been an incident where a rat has been found inside a container of plums," the spokesperson said.
