Brawl breaks out on party boat, woman ends up in Sydney Harbour

There were chaotic scenes in Sydney's CBD on Saturday night after brawl broke out onboard a party boat resulting in six people arrested.

Police were called to an altercation in Darling Harbour shortly before 11pm where a woman ended up in the water.

The woman is believed to have jumped from the wharf and partygoers on the boat are said to have shouted to passersby to raise the alarm.

As a result of the incident, a fight broke out on board the boat, which had returned to Darling Harbour to remove an intoxicated patron.

A number of people were assaulted and one woman was taken to hospital after reportedly falling down a flight of stairs.

Crew members onboard alerted police to an ongoing brawl between guests and officers boarded the boat and separated a number of brawling parties resulting in the arrest of four women and two men.

They were taken to Day Street Police Station where one woman, 25, was charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest.

Another woman, also aged 25, was charged with hindering police while a 23-year-old woman was charged with common assault.

A 23-year-old woman, 24-year-old man and 26-year-old man were charged with affray.

All six will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on March 14.
