Mum, 47, found dead in car may have 'choked on chicken burger'
A Perth mum found dead in her car may have choked on a mouthful of a chicken burger.
The 47-year-old woman is believed to have bought the burger from a Karawara fast-food outlet at about 12.30pm on Thursday before she went to Waterford Plaza and parked in the carpark to eat it, the West Australian reports.
Her body wasn't found until about three hours after her death by a member of the public. They had just stepped off a bus when they spotted her body slumped over the steering wheel.
Store security were alerted at the shopping centre as the woman's car was locked. They smashed one of the car windows to get to her and found half the uneaten burger on her lap.
An ambulance was called and paramedics attempted CPR as they drove the woman to Royal Perth Hospital. She was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The woman has not been named but it's understood she had three children.
It's also understood that police don't believe there was anything wrong with the burger which may have been a contributor to her death.
An inquest will be held to determine how she died.
