Terminally-ill dad films heartbreaking video for his daughters to watch after he dies

A terminally-ill father of two has recorded a heartbreaking video for his daughters, urging them to "take the bad with the good".

Steve Durrant, from the from Portishead near Bristol in the UK, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2014 and told he only had a few more years to live.

He realised he would miss the developmental years for daughters Isobel, 7, and Phoebe, 3, and decided to film the emotional clip for them to watch when they start asking questions.

"Hey girls, you're watching this video because we've had the conversation. You probably noticed over the years I've been losing my hair," Mr Durrant says in the video, shared by Cancer Council UK.

"Maybe more tired. Perhaps not being able to do all the things we wanted to do.

"I hope you didn't notice any difference between me and any of the other parents."

Mr Durrant said he hoped to have inspired his daughters and has "taught them to fly".

"Hopefully I've managed to teach you the difference between right and wrong and that you guys are all you've got so stick together," he said.

"Remember how it felt when I put my arm around you and held you close."

Mr Durrant recorded the message just before Christmas and shared it in support of World Cancer Day on February 4.
