Perth teen fights for life in coma after one-punch train attack

A one punch attack on a Perth train has left a teenager in an induced coma, fighting for life.

Police have released security video of a group boarding the Armadale-bound train, heading home from a night out at 6.30am Sunday morning.

It is believed the victim and his friends got in a fight with another group of men on the train, somewhere between the Cannington and Beckenham stations.

The man in the footage, wearing a yellow checkered shirt, punched the 19-year-old after an argument, police said.

The teen was hit to the right side of his head, before he became dizzy and unsteady on his feet.

A friend then intervened and helped the youth to his seat, while his attacker got off at Beckenham.

When the victim arrived at the Royal Perth Hospital, doctors said there was so much swelling on his brain they placed him an induced coma. He remains in a critical but stable condition on Monday night.
