Driver 'stabs cyclist' during argument over new road rules

A Perth cyclist has allegedly been stabbed after getting in an argument with an overtaking driver over Western Australia's new one-metre passing rule.

The cyclist, who chose to remain anonymous out of fear of another attack, said he was riding with his wife in Kings Park on Friday when the car overtook him unsafely.

He said he tried to speak to him through the window, but claims the driver sped off.

The 52-year-old cyclist said he then spotted the vehicle in the carpark of Zamia Cafe and alleges that the driver got out with a knife as he approached the car.
