A party was planned, then cancelled out of respect to Jessica and her family.
James Stewart, who acted alongside Jessica, said it was a "bittersweet and subdued" day.
He described his castmate and friend as "really formidable and really bubbly, and she was really kind to everyone."
Pia Miller's character, Kat Chapman, was killed off on the show in a car crash.
"Farewell wonderful Jess," she wrote on Instagram, alongside a striking picture of Jessica.
Jessica Falkholt won acclaim playing Hope Morrison.
