Woman’s body found in Sydney northern beaches rubbish bin

A woman’s body has been found in a rubbish bin in the backyard of a home in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Homicide detectives attended the property at a block of units on Wyndora Avenue, Freshwater after an elderly resident made the shocking discovery on Wednesday about 1pm.

The resident noticed legs sticking out of the receptacle.

Concerned neighbour Mary-Louise Parkinson said the woman’s death was “very, very shocking”.

It's believed the woman, aged in her 60s, may have suffered a heart attack and fallen into the wheelie bin. She’d been living in the building for some time.

Police haven’t ruled out homicide, but it’s believed the woman was ill.
