McDonald's manager accused of misconduct while interviewing teen job candidate

McDonald's are investigating a store manager after a Queensland mum claimed her teenage daughter was left in tears after a job interview at a restaurant.

The girl's mother, Rita Pryce, made a lengthy Facebook post about the alleged incident, claiming "do you think you're beautiful?" was just one of the many "ridiculous questions" asked of her 16-year-old daughter during the job interview.

Ms Pryce said it was her daughter's first job interview.

"Poor thing was so scared, and confused by ‘do you think you’re beautiful?’ so she answered ‘Uhhh... I guess... yeah...'," Ms Pryce wrote.

"The staff member then said ‘Well that’s what YOU make of it’. Just when I was furious to hear that in the car minutes later from my daughter while she was crying – scared after feeling intimated through the entire interview, she told me about the rest of it."

McDonald's are now investigating the alleged incident and have placed the manager allegedly involved on leave.

Ms Pryce posted a transcript of the alleged conversation in the interview.

"I was hoping this would all fade from my mind, but NAH! Those inappropriate questions left my daughter feeling sexually harassed and racially vilified," she said.

McDonald's confirmed it is investigating the incident.

"McDonald’s takes any matter of this nature incredibly seriously," a spokesperson for the fast food company told Yahoo7 in a statement.

"The allegations described are unacceptable and when McDonald’s head office was informed of this matter yesterday we started an immediate review.

"We are making efforts to contact the mother to seek further details, in addition, the manager has been placed on leave to allow us to conduct a full and fair investigation."
