The horrific moment little Perth boy is hit by car
Security cameras have captured the moment a little boy was flung into the air after riding into the path of a car in the Perth suburb of Stirling.
Declan Lin's mother ran outside to find her four-year-old lying on the road, unsure if he was alive.
Incredibly though, Declan escaped with just one broken bone and a small bump on his head.
The little boy was hit by a car outside his home on Salvado Road.
His mother wants people to see this footage so they can know how quickly such an accident can happen.
"If he was a little bit slower or the car was a little bit faster, I can't imagine the result," Yuki Zheng said.
As the footage shows, Declan is being watched by his grandfather as he rides around on his tricycle, but when his grandfather's attention turns to his little sister, Declan rides off.
Yuki was inside at the time and ran outside to see her son on the ground.
"I couldn't stop crying because I was so worried," she said.
Declan has a crack in his pelvis and is in a wheelchair because his body is too sore for him to walk, but he has no long-term injuries.
There wasn't enough time for the driver of the Volkswagen Golf to stop - but she stayed and helped.
"I'd like to tell all the parents, especially during the school holidays, watch your children," Yuki said.
"Accidents can happen any time."
Police say the driver who hit Declan wasn't speeding.
