Girl, 5, missing in Filipino jungle, knocked unconscious by dad, left there as punishment
A five-year-old girl who was hit by her father and left in a Philippines jungle as punishment is missing.
Felipe Eranzo admitted to knocking his daughter out by hitting her on the back of the neck before he left her unconscious in the forest at Famy, 96km east of Manila, to teach her a lesson.
Eranzo initially sought assistance from the police to report that his daughter Mariafe was missing, a report on Unang Balita said.

He eventually admitted to leaving her there after she embarrassed him in front of his friends.
He told police he had been drinking before he struck his daughter.
Officers then arrested him and he will face child abuse charges, GMA News reports.
Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
