Family of man who died from fight while playing beer pong awarded $21m
The family of a US man who fell to his death from a fourth-floor window after a fight while playing beer pong has been awarded over $21 million in a lawsuit filed against three other players.
The Connecticut Post reported on Monday that a jury ruled in favour of the family of Salomon Martinez, 24, a married father from Connecticut, Stratford.
Authorities say Martinez went to an apartment in January 2013 to play the drinking game.
Police say a fight erupted after two men lost a $10 bet and accused Martinez of cheating.
Martinez was chased up the stairs and locked himself in a child’s bedroom. He was later found dead on the cement sidewalk.
It’s unclear exactly how he fell from the window and whether he was pushed or not.

Two of the other men pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
One man testified that by the time he got in the bedroom, Martinez was already gone.
Martinez had suffered broken legs, a fractured skull and organ damage. He left behind a seven-year-old daughter.
Matthew Chandler and Kyle Gonzalez, both 23 at the time of sentencing last year, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, The Metro reports.
Chandler was sentenced to 10 years in prison and Gonzalez was handed a 15-year sentence.
A third person in the case, Stephanie Dwyer, fled the state following the incident and is believed to be living in Florida.
All three have been ordered to pay the money.
