Ambulance called after 'frozen figure' spotted not moving in the snow
A concerned citizen has seemingly jumped the gun, contacting emergency services after spotting a frozen figure sitting in thick snow.
After heavy snowfall hit parts of the UK this week, paramedics were called to a North Staffordshire park on Wednesday after receiving a tipoff about a person covered in snow and not moving.
But on closer inspection the Good Samaritan's call turned out to be a false alarm when West Midlands Ambulance Service discovered a concrete sculpture of local author Vera Brittain.
Paramedic mentor Katie Tudor took to Twitter to share the blunder from the worried member of the public.
"Next, call from a member of the public who was concerned that there was someone sat on a bench, not moving and covered in snow!," she wrote online.

"Luckily, on our arrival, it turned out to be a statue!"
Her post was quickly inundated with users poking fun at the mishap, suggesting the ambulance service needs to check out a number of other statues and monuments across the country.
