The tweet this student will regret for the rest of her life

When Kelsey Hall uploaded a photo of herself in a Christmas tree costume to Twitter, she didn’t expect it to get much attention.

But the student should have known to be careful what you wish for – because you just might get it.

Jokily captioned “1,000 retweets and I’ll wear this to all my classes for the rest of the semester”, Ms Hall was surprised when the post quickly racked up thousands of retweets.

In less than 24 hours, the post gained more than 16,000 retweets and 25,000 likes – meaning, by some people’s estimations, that Kelsey should wear the costume for even longer.

While others pointed out that, technically, 1,000 retweets had been and gone, meaning Kelsey was free to wear her standard clothes for the rest of the festive period.

But Kelsey, true to her word, followed through with her promise.

Luckily, with the support of the people of Twitter behind her, Kelsey seems intent on carrying out her declaration to wear the yuletide tenenbaum costume.

Even if she seems to regret the decision slightly.
