Three injured during bloody Perth rampage

Homeowners in Perth's north have been subjected to a terrifying rampage after a driver left a trail of destruction through several suburban streets.

A male driver, 55, allegedly began the dramatic spree in a white vehicle across Karrinyup at around 6.15am on Friday, embarking on a fifteen-minute long rampage.

Police say three people were injured while cars and homes were left damaged and blood-stained.

One incident during the spree caught on CCTV involves the car coming to a halt before reversing and ploughing into a Taunton Way home before speeding off.

"I'm disappointed because I've got to sort all this out. That's the trouble, we're left with all the rubbish to clean up," homeowner Evelyn Pack said.

Forensics were forced to shut down two streets in Karrinyup for almost ten hours to investigate the spree.

Witnesses say police had to taser the man behind the wheel twice, before he was arrested naked in the street.

The ordeal began in Davenport Street and has left three people living in retirement units injured.

The man allegedly caused damage to a neighbouring child care centre while a car, parked in a nearby shopping centre, had its rear window smashed.

It's not known what sparked the alleged spree this morning but police closed this road for nearly ten hours while they collected evidence to piece together the chain of events.

Several blood-splattered items were seized by detectives including a broom, a jerry can and a wooden pole.

Neighbours were visibly shaken from the incident with one local saying the rampage is out of character for the area.

"Our street's quiet, so this kind of stuff doesn't really happen, especially in the morning - so it's all a bit of a shock for us," Bronte O'Grady said.

The man, detectives believe is behind the frightening behaviour, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains under assessment.
