Young woman dies in 'tragic accident' in London

The devastated family of a young woman who died after a "tragic accident" in the UK are trying to raise enough money to bring her home.

Toni Kelly, from New Zealand, reportedly died from her injuries in London two weeks after being put on life support and her organs have been donated to help save others.

Family friends have raised almost $30,000 on a Give A Little crowdfunding page to "help get Toni home."

"Toni was a young, happy and beautiful girl who has had a tragic accident while living overseas in London," the page read.

"This money will help the family bring Toni home and pay for any extra expenses."

While she was on life support, Toni's parents flew from New Zealand to the UK to be by her side, the NZ Herald reported.

Friends have described her as "the most genuine, down-to-earth, free soul".

"Always had the biggest heart for anyone and everyone and sure knew how to show a good time. Always had the best life advice and to never take it for granted," one friend wrote on the crowdfunding page.

Her school sports co-ordinator Christine Taylor said Toni was "very outgoing, easy to get along with and a happy go lucky girl."
