Fears for Schoolies as more taking snaps of their stupid risks

Fears are growing for the safety of school leavers on the Gold Coast after a string of potentially deadly incidents has marred Schoolies celebrations.

One incident caught on camera has seen several teens hanging precariously over high-rise balconies while another risk-taker filmed himself with his legs dangling several storeys high at the Soul Hotel.

And there were more arrests overnight with 17 schoolies and seven "Toolies" charged, mostly on drugs offences, bringing the total number of arrests to 65.

The chaotic scenes may be putting teens off schoolies with an increasing number choosing to travel overseas.

"It was inevitable that we were going to see those things happen. People are becoming more adventurous," Mike Winlaw of the Surfers Paradise Alliance said.

Tuesday evening offers a moment of respite for the school leavers with the beach party transformed into a movie cinema, with those who have descended on the Gold Coast urged to relax.
