Puppy stolen from little girl returned by thieves in the middle of the night
An eight-week-old puppy snatched from the home of a Melbourne family has been returned by the thieves during the night.
Sasha vanished from the Croydon Hills house on Monday at 11.30am, along with a laptop, iPad and jewellery, leaving four-year-old Maia devastated at losing her "best friend."
But on Thursday, the family awoke to the sound of Sasha whimpering and barking from the backyard.
They said the thieves must "have a heart" and decided to return the labrador puppy after seeing media reports.
Victoria Police confirmed they are still investigating the burglary as the other items were not returned.
On Wednesday, Ryan Hood told 3AW radio the family wasn't so concerned about the "material things" taken, but just wanted Sasha home.
"My daughter is devastated, unsurprisingly," he sad. "She'd go to bed with it every night and we'd have to take her back to her bed."
"It's very difficult to explain to a four-year-old how something like this could happen."
