70 reasons Apple users are rejoicing over the new iOS

Apple users are celebrating the new software update's bug fixes and 70 new emojis, after reporting "loads of problems" with iOS 11.

The previous iOS update was made available when the iPhone 8 was released on September 22, but many said it had a number of bugs, including a WiFi security flaw.

But the main problem users reported was a rapidly draining battery.

While the company remained quiet on whether Tuesday's update would improve the battery life, experts have said a fix has been included.

iOS 11.1 reportedly give users three hours extra battery life on iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus, Forbes reported.

A fix has also been included to tackle the WiFi "security" issue.

The previous update allowed AirDrop and Location Services to keep working even when the user switches WiFi off.

Before the update, the WiFi could simply be switched off by flicking up the menu at the bottom of the screen and pressing the icon, but needed to be toggled off in settings in iOS 11.

iOS 11.1 has rectified the issue as well as reintroducing some screen gestures, including the 3D Touch Option.

A total of 70 new emojis have also been added.

“The new emoji are designed to reveal every detail and adapted from approved characters in Unicode 10," Apple said in a statement last month.

"iOS 11.1 will also include characters announced on World Emoji Day like Woman with Headscarf, Bearded Person, Breastfeeding, Zombie, Person in Lotus Position and new food items such as Sandwich and Coconut."

Before the update, users had to turn WiFi off in Settings, instead of just in the menu that flicks up from the bottom of the screen
