Curious exhibition-goer instantly regrets ignoring the 'do not touch' sign

A man has instantly regretted his decision to ignore a sign advising him not to touch the glass at an exhibit in the US.

Video shows Gregory Heinzman on a recent visit to the International Spy Museum in Washington.

"Touch at your own risk" is printed above the screen.

But Mr Heinzman cautiously places a finger on the glass.

Nothing happens.

Seemingly confused, instead of stopping he continues to tap the glass.

Still nothing happens.

Next, Mr Heinzman places his whole palm on the screen and presses.

The shark leaps at him and appears to smash through the glass, sending Mr Heinzman barrelling backwards onto the floor in shock.

He looks back at his friend filming, completely aghast at what has just transpired.

His friend Casey Peck told Storyful she knew Mr Heinzman was easily frightened and had to capture the moment.
