WATCH: Hundreds of venomous spiders emerge from pest controller's walls

A pest controller has captured footage showing how the walls of his house are infested with hundreds of venomous spiders with ‘glowing green’ fangs.

Dad-of-two Grant Wood says that when he discovered the tube web spiders in his Bracknell, Northamptonshire, UK, home a year ago there were around 100 but they have since quadrupled in numbers.

The 40-year-old filmed the arachnids last week to show others the ‘scary’ creatures that he compares to the terrifying spiders seen in the Harry Potter franchise after one jumped on his head.

Spiders, while often not meaning to, have a habit of drawing hysterical reactions from some householders.

Firefighters in Tuscon, Arizona, in the US said earlier this week they suspect a heated battle between spider and human was the cause of a blaze that destroyed a home.

Investigations were still continuing but authorities said they suspected the resident used a propane blowtorch to burn spiders and spiderwebs from under the mobile home before it went up in flames.

An elderly woman sustained minor injuries when she was carried out of the caravan by her son with the help of neighbours, the Tucson Fire Department confirmed.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene and no other injuries were reported.
