WATCH: Guards take down sex offender as he charges at court staff
A sex offender has vandalised a courtroom in the US after charging at an employee during a hearing.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department posted a video on Facebook of the moment the man began his brief rampage earlier this month in Tacoma, in the US state of Washington.
In the video, the man sits at a table with his lawyer when he suddenly stands up and runs across the Pierce County courtroom.
With his eyes on a judicial assistant, he lunges out trying to grab the terrified staffer.
Luckily, a Pierce County corrections officer wrestles him away and flings him to the floor but not before he’s smashed a computer monitor and knocked stationery off the desk.
A second guard comes in and helps her restrain the man.

More guards intervene and take the sex offender away into custody.
The moment of a “little excitement” only caused US$1000 in damage according to PCSD.
No one was injured.
