Firefighters are working to control a blaze at a metal recycling plant in Sydney's west.
The fire took hold in a large pile of old cars at the St Marys plant just before 1pm on Thursday, a spokesman for Fire & Rescue NSW said.
Multiple crews, including an aerial unit, are on scene trying to contain the flames as images of black smoke rising over the suburb circulated on social media.
