New mum shot after diving on injured boyfriend to shield him from Vegas gunman's bullets
A new mother was shot when she dived on top of her critically injured boyfriend to protect him from further gunfire during the Las Vegas mass shooting.
Summer Clyburn, 22, acted quickly when her boyfriend, California police officer Michael Gracia, was shot in the head by killer Stephen Paddock.
Ms Clyburn, who has been pictured holding her baby with a visible bandaged gunshot wound on her back, was luckily not seriously injured.
A GoFundMe page set up to help the pair now says Mr Gracia is in a stable condition after surgery but “he’s going to have a long road of recovery”.

“Summer his girlfriend and mother of his child covered him while he was hurt which got her shot as well,” the fundraising page read.
“The love between those two are real and they are new parents and new parents shouldn’t be going through this.”
An image of Ms Clyburn on Facebook shows her re-united with her three month old after the worst massacre in US history with a large bandage over her right shoulder.
"If this isn't the definition of a strong woman then idk what is," Lauren Harkins wrote next to the picture.
"Took a bullet to the back by a rifle to save someone else's life and is still going strong for her baby and love of her life. Mind you, that bullet is shattered inside of her and unable to be removed."
As of Wednesday morning, close to $70,000 had been raised to help with the young couple’s medical bills.
Fifty nine people died and 527 were injured when gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire from a hotel room on a country music festival in Las Vegas with a cache of high powered weapons.
