How police caught kidnap model Chloe Ayling in a lie

Model Chloe Ayling has been caught lying about her alleged kidnapper.

Police quizzed the 20-year-old British model over details that she was buying shoes with one of her alleged kidnappers, which contradicts previous statements, The Sun reports.

Polish brothers Lukasz, 30, and Michal Herba, 36, are in custody accused of kidnapping Ms Ayling.

Ms Ayling has alleged she was given a tracksuit and pants before leaving the house near Turin in Northern Italy, where she says she was being held.

But documents say Ms Ayling told police during three separate interviews lasting more than 13 hours that she went with Lukasz to buy shoes. A shopkeeper confirmed the model as with the 30-year-old during the purchase.

One officer asked why she lied to police and she burst into tears saying she didn’t have a reasonable explanation.

In a separate interview an officer asked her if she thought it was strange the man who allegedly kidnapped her went with her to buy shoes.

“He was the person who could save me and who could help me regain my freedom,” she said.

“That’s the reason I didn’t fight and I didn’t ask for help from the woman in the shop.’’

Ms Ayling said five people were involved in her kidnapping but she had only seen two faces. It’s thought the two were the Herba brothers.

Italian police say Ms Ayling was injected with ketamine and stuffed into a suitcase.

On Friday, Westminster magistrates’ court ordered the extradition of Michal from Britain to Italy. His legal team have called the kidnap claim a publicity stunt.

But Italian police say they have enough evidence against both Michal and Lukasz
