Coles shopper's disgusted after feeding son mouldy bread finds more when he returns to store

A Coles shopper has been left shocked after accidentally feeding his four-year-old son mouldy bread he had just bought, only to return to the store and find more inedible loaves.

John Younes visited a Sydney Coles branch on Monday and purchased a packet of Turkish Bread due to expire on September 28.

The unwitting customer fed the bread to his son, who later arose from his bed vomiting.

Mr Younes initially believed his son had contracted a virus, but further inspection of the bread he had purchased earlier left him shocked.

He shared an image of the bread covered in green patches of mould on the official Coles Facebook page before returning to the store.

"Shame on you Coles we bought Coles Turkish bread yesterday on the 25/09/2017 with exp date 28/09/2017 my son wakes up vomiting last night we thought it was a bug, only for me to discover today that your Turkish bread is mouldy I am happy to provide photos," Mr Younes wrote online.

Filming his return, Mr Younes found several packets of Turkish Bread with the same expiry date, all in the same condition as the one he had purchased earlier.

Mr Younes once again shared his video to the Coles Facebook page before the supermarket giant wrote a concerned response online.

"Thanks for bringing this to our attention, John,” the Coles spokesperson wrote..

“We pride ourselves on the quality of our products, so we're disappointed to see this. We'll ensure that your feedback is shared with our Store Manager, to follow up with the team.”
