Man charged over sex attacks on Queensland children in care

Police are investigating a series of a sex attacks on foster children at a home north of Brisbane.

The children were allegedly sexually assaulted by the son of their foster mother.

Police have charged the man, 24, with seven counts of rape and one count of indecent dealing.

The unemployed man fronted court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear next month.

Three of the four victims were in foster care at the time. The fourth child was believed to be a friend of the family.

The alleged victims are aged between five and nine years old. The three foster children have since been removed from the home and placed elsewhere.

Their foster mother was not involved in the attacks and contacted police as soon as she was allegedly made aware of what was happening, Seven News has been told.

The children were allegedly assaulted in the foster home, and several other locations by the man who cannot be identified under Queensland laws.

Police have raided the foster home, seizing bedding, clothes, computers and phones.

The police investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to be laid.
