Father charged after chasing daughter around town in clown mask to 'discipline her'

A father has been charged for chasing his six-year-old daughter around a neighbourhood wearing a clown mask to “discipline her”.

Police say the girl was so terrified she jumped into a stranger’s car and then into a stranger’s apartment on Saturday night, according to Fox6.

She was screaming that a clown was chasing her around the Boardman Township in the US State of Ohio.

During the commotion police say a man in an apartment building stepped outside and fired a gunshot into the ground.

The father told police he chased his daughter to discipline her for behavioural issues instead of smacking her.

He’s been charged with child endangering and inducing panic, while the man who fired the gunshot has been charged with using weapons while intoxicated.

The charges follow a Perth teen’s terror at being chased and spooked after she was chased by 2.5km by three men wearing clown masks on Saturday night.

Frightened Rastana Baker couldn’t see the faces of the three men wearing clown masks.

The 16-year-old was a victim of the online craze where people dress as clowns to scare strangers.

Perth police have warned these dangerous stunts are on their radar and are worried someone's going to get hurt.

A 19-year-old Northam man has already gone to court in January over the craze where he pleaded guilty to possessing a disguise.
