Perth man's housekeeper has 'feet cut off with a machete by jealous husband'

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT. A Perth man living in Bali has made a desperate plea for help after his housekeeper allegedly had both her feet hacked off with a machete.

In front of her two young children, Putu Careen was reportedly set upon by her husband in an alcohol-fuelled rage on Tuesday night.

Local police said the man had been accusing his wife of being unfaithful before brutally hacking off her feet.

Rohan Lee, who moved to Canggu two years ago, employed the young mother as his housekeeper and was left “horrified” after learning of the gruesome attack.

“Not only is this one of the most vile and vindictive acts of violence I've ever witnessed, the worst part is that in Indonesia there is no welfare or government assistance for medical treatment of this kind,” he wrote in a GoFundMe page set up to cover her mounting medical bills.

“She will never be able to work again…this incident has left Putu without the ability to work to support her 2 children, pay for immediate medical treatment, prosthetic legs or obtain any kind of rehabilitation.

“I struggle to see how anybody could do such a thing to such a loving and caring human being.

“Ever since I moved to Canggu 2 years ago, Putu has helped me with everything from finding accommodation to helping me with the local market.”
