Tropical Depression Thirteen could become hurricane in next couple of days: NHC

(Reuters) - Tropical Depression Thirteen in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico could become a hurricane in the next couple of days, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its latest advisory.

The system, about 95 miles (155 km) east of Tampico, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour (55 kmh), was expected to remain off Mexico through to late Thursday, the NHC said.
"Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression could become a hurricane on Friday," it said.
