Woman, 26, stole her grandmother's life savings and blew it on a spa bath, tech gadgets and jewellery

A woman stole her grandmother’s life savings to buy gadgets, a hot tub and a sex toy, a UK court has heard.

Nicole Speirs, 26, stole more than $AU35,000 from her grandma and went on a shopping spree, according to The Sun.

Ms Speirs, from Kirkintilloch, Glasgow, spent more than $600 on a hot tub along with a remote controlled drone, vibrating sex toy, clothes and jewellery.

She was caught out after her victim, 78-year-old Pearl Williams, went to withdraw money but found none in her account, according to Daily Record.

A source told the Record Ms Speirs’ grandmother had been generous her whole life and had done “anything” to help her granddaughter.

“That Nicole has repaid her like this is just disgusting – the lowest of the low,” the source said.

The source said Ms Williams is staying with a relative in Portugal while she recovers from the ordeal.

Ms Speirs has pleaded guilty to defrauding her grandmother.

The charge against her states: “You did, having an account with Amazon, repeatedly order goods and tender as a means of payment a bank card or details of a bank card to be debited which was in the name of Pearl Williams, 78, your grandmother.”

It adds Ms Speirs did not have the authority to use the account.

Ms Williams has reportedly been reimbursed while her granddaughter will be sentenced on August 29.
