First victim of Barcelona terror attack named
The first named victim of the terrorist attack in Barcelona is Italian father of two Bruno Gulotta.
He was on holiday with his partner and two children, one of whom is only seven months old, the other five years old.
Mr Gulotta, 35, was crushed to death as a white Fiat van slammed into pedestrians along the popular Las Ramblas tourist strip.
The Italian man was walking hand in hand with his five-year-old son, and his wife Martina was following with their seven-month-old baby in her arms, la Repubblica newspaper has reported.
Martina grabbed her five-year-old and rushed the children to safety but her husband was struck down and killed instantly.
Mr Gulotta worked as a salesman in a computer shop, Tom's Hardware, in Legnano, Northern Italy.
A colleague wrote on the Tom's Hardware website: "He had posted on Facebook the stages of his journey and everything seemed to proceed as one would expect from a vacation trip.
"A photo from Cannes, one of the Ramblas in Barcelona. And then, what no-one expects: the death of a young man, father and life partner of the mother of his children."
Another colleague said "he was able to lead a rich family life and a brilliant professional career with a balance - and for that I will always envy him."
A fourth person has been arrested over the attacks that have killed 14 people and injured more than 130 in two separate attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, authorities say.
Police shot dead five would-be attackers early on Friday in Cambrils, a town south of Barcelona where hours earlier a suspected attacker drove a van into crowds.
Authorities were continuing their manhunt for the driver of the van that ploughed into crowds on the popular Las Ramblas tourist strip.
Of the four people already arrested, police said three were from Morocco and one was from Spain.
Las Ramblas was reopened the morning after the attack, with a visible police presence.
Sydney schoolboy Julian Cadman, 7, is missing and his mother Jumarie is in an induced coma, with her husband flying into Barcelona to search for their son.
Another woman from New South Wales is also in a serious condition in hospital.
