WATCH: Young girl 'forced' to go parasailing

A young girl appears to have been forced by her parents to go parasailing on a beach in Thailand.

Video shot by passers-by shows the child in distress as she is put into a harness and into the air by her parents.

David Carlyle saw the crying girl and the man ask his wife to film it.

“While walking along the southern end of Patong Beach we came across some commotion with a Chinese gentleman along with some locals trying to strap a harness around a very young girl who appeared to be no more than two years old," he told The Mirror.

“We watched as the toddler was clearly crying and in distress while these men were forcing the harness on her.“

He added that the group appeared to have "no concern" about the girl's welfare.

Mr Carlyle and his friends grabbed the tether and pulled them back down to the beach.

“The parasailing companies around Phuket are very aggressive in signing up customers and as you can see do not care in the least who signs up as long as they are paying!”

As the parachute descended to the ground, Carlyle and his friends ran and caught it and pulled the young girl back to the ground.

The girl was carried away with her father.
