Father of three sent flying by car speaks of his miraculous survival
An Adelaide father of three hit by a car in a sickening collision has spoken about his brush with death.
Peter Akau, 38, has told 7 News of the terrifying moment he saw the out of control car hurtling towards him.
He was crossing Elizabeth Way on Wednesday morning on his way to the train station when the drama unfolfed.
Akau had made it to the footpath when the Toyota mounted the kerb, took out a sign and slammed into him, sending him flying through the air.
The car then ploughed into the front wall of a business.
Remarkably, Akau was out of bed in hospital walking around and didn't suffer any broken bones, just a sore arm, leg and lower back.
Akau said it's "a miracle" he survived.
"Having seen that footage, you can't imagine you know someone surviving through that," he said.
