Dad allegedly killed 13yo son after he found photos of him wearing women's clothes

A Colorado father allegedly killed his teenage son after the boy found "compromising" photographs of him in women's clothes and makeup.

Dylan Redwine disappeared from his father's home on November 2012 and it took almost a year for investigators to find his remains.

They were found scattered in the nearby mountains, while his skull was located in 2015 just 1.5kms from home.

On Saturday his father, Mark Redwine, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after it's alleged his son found a series of disturbing images.

The photographs show Mark Redwine in women's clothing and makeup, wearing diapers and performing disturbing acts.

The man has continued to deny any involvement in his son's death, appearing on talk show Dr Phil in to face off against his ex-wife, Elaine Hall, who claims to have always believed her husband was responsible.

Dylan's older brother Cory Redwine said he had seen the photographs and told ABC7 he thought they were "disgusting."

Elaine Hall claims Cory confronted his father about the images and that Mark Redwine had reacted "in a very violent way."

Mark Redwine is being held in Bellingham, Washington on US$1million bond.

In a grand jury indictment it was revealed that blood had been found in multiple locations inside the man's house.

Hikers found the boy's skull in 2015, which had injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and what appeared to be knife marks.

According to the indictment, Dylan was becoming estranged from his father during his parents' bitter divorce and custody battle.
