Soldier's boy melts down at new stepmum's wedding tribute

The four-year-old son of a US Marine has broken down adorably at his dad's wedding as his new stepmum explained how happy she was to join the little boy's family.

United States Marine Corps Sergeant Joshua Newville and Senior Airman Emily Leehan wed in New York over the weekend, with four-year-old Gage by their side.

"I want you to be safe, to try your hardest and to be a good person," Sr Airman Leehan said to her new step son.

With that, Gage wrapped his arms around here as he broke into tears. Within minutes, Gage, his dad and his bride were all in tears.

"You are a very special boy, you are so extremely smart, handsome and kind to others," she continued.

Gage's dad comforted the young man amid audible "awws" from their guests, before Gage turned back and hugged Sr Airman Leehan again.

The new Mr and Mrs Newville, both active military personel, will forgoe their honeymoon to return to base at McGuire-Dix-LakeHurts.
