Newlywed honeymooners charged with sexual battery and kidnap

A recently married couple allegedly kidnapped a woman and then sexually assaulted her at a motel room, according to police.

The pair were arrested a day later when they walked naked into a Miami Walgreens pharamcy.

Miami-Dade Police said the 27-year-old victim had been shopping at a supermarket in Florida and had just got into her vehicle when a woman allegedly crossed in front of the car, CBS Miami reports.

Rashada Horsley, 32, approached the driver side door.

Police said when the victim rolled her window down, Horsley allegedly struck the side of her head, knocking her out and when she awoke, she realised she had been moved.

Horsley was in the driver's seat and Horsley's husband, Timothy Lowe, 37, was in the car.

It's alleged Horsley began choking the victim before Lowe punched her in the face and pushed her into the back seat.

They then arrived at a Motel 6 in Miami.

Inside the hotel room it's alleged the Georgia couple violently raped the victim, including forcing her to perform oral sex on both suspects as well as anal penetration.

Investigators said the woman was able to make her escape after the couple became momentarily distracted.

The duo fled in the victim's car.

Just a day later the couple were arrested on an unrelated charge for public nudity after they walked in a Walgreens without any clothes on.

Police then made the connection to the woman's kidnapping and they were subsequently charged with kidnapping, carjacking, grand theft and sexual battery.

During the hearing last week, the judge made note that they were recently married and on their honeymoon.
