Sydney boxer and swimsuit model 'caught driving on drugs'

Sydney professional boxer and swimsuit model Lauryn Eagle has allegedly been "caught driving under the influence of drugs in south Sydney", it has been reported.

Ms Eagle allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine, or ice, at a random road-side drug test earlier this week and was arrested, The Daily Telegraph has reported.

Police reportedly pulled the 29-year-old's black Audi Q5 over on Henry Lawson Drive, Peakhurst about 10am on Wednesday .

She has not been charged.

News Corp reports her lawyer Adam Houda denied she'd taken illicit drugs, blaming any potential reading on prescription medication.

“She hasn’t taken any illicit drugs,” he said. “Such a suggestion would not only be wrong, but also cruel and unfair."

It is understood that Ms Eagle is being treated for a sleeping disorder. A second test is being analysed and it may take several weeks to get a result.

Ms Eagle was taken to Kogarah Police Station for further testing and was prohibited from driving for 24 hours, police told AAP.

The maximum punishment for driving under the influence of drugs for the first offence is $3300 and three months' jail.
