Iraqi male model allegedly stabbed to death in Baghdad 'because of his good looks'

An Iraqi male model has allegedly been stabbed to death because of his appearance and "sexuality".

On Monday, Karar Nushi was reported missing and was later found dead on a busy street in Baghdad with "signs of torture" on his body.

Nushi had reportedly received death threats because of his long hair and tight clothing before he was killed, The Daily Beast reported.

“There has not been real information saying that Karar was gay,” Mr Ashour said. “It’s an assumption whoever killed him made based on how he looked".

Friends also believe Mr Nushi was targeted because of his appearance and said he was also reportedly taking part in a male beauty pageant.
