Brisbane girl, 16, missing after texting her family to say she was 'on her way home'

Police have released a photo of a missing teenager in the hopes someone may recognise her after she failed to return to her Brisbane home more than a week ago.

The 16-year-old was on her way home to Middle Park in Brisbane from the Gold Coast last Sunday, June 18.

She had texted her family in Middle Park at about 4pm saying she was on her home.

She was seen at Coomera Railway Station later that night.

Police say there a was a reported sighting of the teen at Helensvale Railway Station on Monday, June 19 at about 10.30am.

The girl is described as Asian in appearance, 150cms tall with a slim build and long brown hair.

Anyone who may have seen the girl or has any information in relation to her current whereabouts is urged to contact police.

It's believed she is a frequent traveller to the Gold Coast.
