Dutton in fight with tribunal to deport convicted sex criminal

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton is reportedly engaged in a tug-of-war with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal over the fate of a convicted criminal.

The AAT overturned a second attempt by Mr Dutton to deport Indian taxi driver Jagdeep Singh, The Herald Sun reports.

Singh pleaded guilty in September to indecently assaulting a female passenger.

The tribunal issued Singh a bridging visa last Friday but the minister has again cancelled his visa.

It's understood Singh is now back in detention awaiting deportation.
