‘Absolutely broken’: Teen discovers her pen pal was killed in Manchester bombing

A New Zealand teen has been left gutted after discovering her online pen pal was one of the people killed in the horrific suicide bombing attack in Manchester.

The teen, Skye Gallagher, lost her best friend, Georgina Callander, following the devastating blast that has shocked the world, reports the Otago Daily Times.

"My best friend in this whole damn world has been killed just after watching her favourite artist perform live," Skye wrote in a heartbreaking post on social media.

"I hate this earth and this is proof that the loveliest people are the first to go. I don't know what I'm going to do without you sunshine. You're the sweetest person I have ever come to know."

Following the tragic death of her best friend she says she is "absolutely broken" and "can't stop shaking".

"The padlock you placed in Paris is our friendship forever and it's surely one I'll never ever forget. We'll meet someday young one, just not where we hoped to," she continued writing in the post.

"All of my love from the bottom of my heart. Rest in peace honey. I'll never ever forget you. Lots of love from your best friend skye pie."

Georgina Bethany Callander was the first victim to be named in the aftermath of the Manchester attack.

22 people lost their lives in the horrific attack immediately following the concert by Ariana Grande.

Before the concert Georgina had tweeted that she was "so excited" to see the pop star.

The superfan is said to have died at hospital with her mother by her bedside.
